Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef bones preferably with some meat on them
  • 1 Onion quartered
  • 2 Carrots chopped
  • 2 stalks Celery chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic smashed
  • 2 leaves Bay leaves
  • 10 cups Water

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place beef bones on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Transfer roasted bones to a large pot. Add onion, carrots, celery, garlic, bay leaves, and water.
  3. 3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 4 hours. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
  4. 4. Strain the stock through a fine-mesh strainer. Discard solids. Let the stock cool, then refrigerate or freeze.
