Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Beef stew meat cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Pearl barley
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 Carrots chopped
  • 2 Celery stalks chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 8 cups Beef broth
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Dried rosemary
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add beef and cook until browned.
  2. 2. Add onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened.
  3. 3. Stir in beef broth, barley, thyme, and rosemary. Bring to a boil.
  4. 4. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, or until barley is tender.
  5. 5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
