Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Beef Stew Meat cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Barley
  • 4 cups Beef Broth
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 Carrots sliced
  • 2 Celery Stalks sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper to taste

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, brown the beef stew meat over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the chopped onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened.
  3. 3. Stir in the barley, beef broth, water, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. 4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 2 hours, or until the beef and barley are tender.
  5. 5. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
