Filling
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 0.5 cup Green Olives, sliced
- 0.25 cup Raisins
Dough
- 2.5 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 0.5 cup Butter, chilled and diced
- 1 Egg
- 0.75 cup Water, cold
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Add chopped onion and garlic, cook until soft.
Stir in cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Add olives and raisins. Cook for another 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add egg and water, mix until dough forms.
Roll out dough on a floured surface. Cut into circles. Place filling in the center of each circle. Fold and seal edges.
Place empanadas on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
