Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 beef cheeks
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery sticks, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for browning Olive oil

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F).
  2. Season beef cheeks with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large ovenproof pot over medium-high heat. Brown beef cheeks on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, add onions, carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook until softened.
  5. Stir in tomato paste, then add red wine. Bring to a boil and reduce by half.
  6. Add beef stock, bay leaves, and beef cheeks back to the pot. Bring to a simmer.
  7. Cover and transfer to the oven. Cook for 3 hours or until beef cheeks are tender.
  8. Remove bay leaves and serve.
