Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb lamb shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup green lentils
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 handful fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish

Instructions 

  1. 1. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat the olive oil.
  2. 2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. 3. Add the lamb chunks and brown on all sides.
  4. 4. Stir in the cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and turmeric.
  5. 5. Add the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and lentils. Stir well.
  6. 6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. 7. Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 30 minutes.
  8. 8. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  9. 9. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
