Ingredients 

Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ½ cup cold butter, diced
  • ½ cup cold water

Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and turmeric. Add diced butter and mix until crumbly. Add cold water and mix until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. In a pan, cook ground beef until browned. Add onion, garlic, thyme, allspice, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until onions are soft.
  4. Mix beef broth and cornstarch. Add to beef mixture and cook until thickened. Let cool.
  5. Roll out dough and cut into circles. Add filling to each circle, fold over, and seal edges. Brush with egg wash.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
