Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 large Onion sliced
- 8 slices Rye bread
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 tablespoon Butter softened
- to taste Salt and pepper
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
2. Form ground beef into 4 patties. Season with salt and pepper. Cook patties in the same skillet over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
3. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Place 4 slices, buttered side down, on the skillet. Top each with a slice of Swiss cheese, a beef patty, caramelized onions, another slice of cheese, and another slice of bread, buttered side up.
4. Cook sandwiches over medium heat until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Serve hot.
