Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 whole Chicken cut into pieces
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 2 medium Carrots sliced
  • 1 cup Peas
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 8 cups Chicken Broth
  • to taste Salt and Pepper
  • 1 bunch Cilantro chopped

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened.
  2. 2. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. 3. Stir in the cumin and turmeric, and cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
  5. 5. Add the rice, carrots, and peas. Cook for another 15 minutes or until the rice and vegetables are tender.
  6. 6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped cilantro just before serving.
