Ingredients

Pie Crust

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Cold butter cubed
  • ¼ cup Cold water

Filling

  • 1 lb Ground pork
  • 1 small Onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 Egg beaten, for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cold water, a tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix ground pork, chopped onion, salt, pepper, sage, and thyme until well combined.
  4. Roll out half of the dough on a floured surface and line a pie dish with it. Add the pork filling and spread evenly.
  5. Roll out the remaining dough and cover the pie. Seal the edges and cut a few slits on top to allow steam to escape. Brush with beaten egg.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 90 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is cooked through. Let it cool slightly before serving.
