- 4 pieces Cube steak
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 2 units Eggs beaten
- 1 cup Vegetable oil for frying
Gravy
- 2 tablespoon Butter
- 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper
Sandwich Assembly
- 4 units Hamburger buns toasted
- 1 cup Lettuce shredded
- 1 unit Tomato sliced
- 1 unit Pickles sliced
1. In a shallow bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
2. In another bowl, combine buttermilk and beaten eggs.
3. Dredge each piece of steak in the flour mixture, then dip in the buttermilk mixture, and again in the flour mixture. Set aside.
4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the steaks until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
5. For the gravy, melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk, salt, and pepper. Cook until thickened.
6. To assemble the sandwiches, place a fried steak on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with gravy, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Cover with the top half of the bun.
