  • 1 lb Beef stew meat cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Barley
  • 4 cups Beef broth
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Carrots chopped
  • 1 cup Celery chopped
  • 1 cup Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper to taste

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a slow cooker, combine beef, barley, beef broth, water, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, thyme, basil, salt, and pepper.
  2. 2. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until beef and barley are tender.
  3. 3. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed before serving.
