True Dominican Sancocho Recipe
A hearty and traditional Dominican stew made with a variety of meats and root vegetables.

Main Ingredients
- 2 lbs Chicken cut into pieces
- 1 lb Pork cut into pieces
- 1 lb Beef cut into pieces
- 2 cups Yuca peeled and chopped
- 2 cups Plantains peeled and chopped
- 2 cups Potatoes peeled and chopped
- 1 cup Carrots peeled and chopped
- 1 cup Corn cut into pieces
- 1 cup Pumpkin peeled and chopped
- 1 large Onion chopped
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 bunch Cilantro chopped
- 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper to taste
- 8 cups Water
1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add the chicken, pork, and beef. Cook until browned on all sides.
3. Add the onion, garlic, and cilantro. Cook until the onion is translucent.
4. Add the yuca, plantains, potatoes, carrots, corn, and pumpkin. Stir well.
5. Pour in the water and bring to a boil.
6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 2 hours, or until the meats and vegetables are tender.
7. Season with oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper to taste.
8. Serve hot and enjoy!
